We are planning a Climate Strike Rally and March at Noon at De La Guerra Plaza in Santa Barbara on September 27th and would like one free Parachute. Our City's Sustainability Program consists of the coordination of various environmental projects, plans and initiatives within the City organization and community. Numerous services and programs are offered to residents and businesses to conserve energy, prevent waste, and protect natural resources. Through facility improvements and internal policies, the City organization is committed to protecting and enhancing the environment in daily operations. Our City Council passed local laws banning plastic straws, stirrers and cutlery and styrofoam food containers. Our City Council adopted a new law designating public areas smoke-free. Smoking is prohibited in the following outdoor public areas: parks, including sports fields, open spaces, and trails. As you know, 50 years ago, a blowout off the coast of Santa Barbara led to a wave of environmental laws nationwide. Thank you! Brent
