I am writing as the community volunteer with the Thornridge HS Joy in Nature science club. We have been meeting since March 2022 to train student leaders to become activists for climate solutions. We participated in the New Lenox Earth Day Event in April, 2022 and, this year we will be doing it again. In addition to tables where students will demonstrate climate change and oceans, model a wind turbine and explain renewable energy, the students will give children and teens the opportunity to decorate a parachute. As the participants decorate, our students will informally talk about climate solutions and the importance of raising their voices to share the fact that we have the solutions we just need the will to take immediate action. Everyone, governments and corporations. These parachutes will then be available for display at the school and upcoming marches such as Fridays for the Future. Thank you
