Green Leaders is a program where middle school students build leadership and communication skills to share an urgent message about birds and climate change. Recently, they engaged their neighbors in a climate awareness art project at Patterson Parks annual Da del Nio. Hundreds of participants from the community signed the parachute with their painted handprints on behalf of protecting Baltimores birds and people through climate actions. Students designed the parachute to display baby Orioles alongside native flowers like Black-eyed susans and Echinacea, surrounding the words "Damos esta tierra a los nios de maana." (We give this Earth to the children of tomorrow).
