I am a community organizer, with a group called Port Hope for the Future. We are inspired by the #Fridays for the Future youth movement to press for urgent action on the climate change crisis. We participated in the nation wide climate strike on May 3rd, and had over 200 participants. We will be hosting another strike on September 27th. On top of this we are also hosting a Town Hall for a Green New Deal for Canada, to imagine a paradigm shift to address the climate crisis and at the same time to address the inequalities and injustices in our society leaving no one behind.
